Women in design and construction

Women in Design and Construction (Widac) is a national organisation which seeks to empower, inspire and support women in design and construction fields as well as other relevant industries. Through promoting a culture of challenging change and fostering resilience, Widac establishes a welcoming community where like-minded individuals can congregate through networking and workshop events.

With empowerment, equality and diversity at its core, Widac champions individuals to thrive in their field and reach their full potential by offering support and encouragement within their events and community. Events typically take place at a stunning venue and feature key speakers, offering opportunity for knowledge sharing and above all, networking in a relaxed setting. Industry insights generally are presented around a core event topic which commonly guides discussion. Members and guests come from diverse positions ranging from students to graduates to senior professionals.

After becoming a member of Widac Brisbane I can confidently say that it is a wonderful community with top notch events and insights on offer. It has allowed me to connect with other like-minded women and build upon my industry contacts without the rigidity of traditional ‘networking’ forums. I feel very welcomed and would highly recommend attending these events for university students and early professionals, in particular, where finding your feet and growing confidence within your professional work and personal brand are pivotal and of utmost importance.

Widac currently run events in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, with individual Facebook and Instagram accounts for each city. Head over to their website or other socials for more information on upcoming events to get involved with.
